I am often very quick to blame ‘living in a ski resort’ in the French Alps, as the reason I don’t really know what’s new, what’s cool and what’s happening in the world. Which is obviously not to blame, it’s not deepest darkest Siberia after all! Anyway, albeit a number of years after everyone else… Podcasts have just entered my life!!
Sarah who runs Tough Girl Podcasts kindly invited me on her weekly podcast earlier in the year and it subsequently opened my eyes to a whole new world of Podcasts! I didn’t even no such a thing existed! I can now be inspired and motivated by people’s amazing stories and challenges while I’m training! Amazing! Rather than only listening to the same 120 songs on my iPod Shuffle that I have been listening to for the past 6 years unchanged!
A podcast is not always ideal listening if your doing sprint training or the likes of. However, on the turbo, doing weights and particularly doing long slow endurance training I think they are perfect. I can lose my head in another world, and before I know it a whole hour has gone by and i’m clicking on the next episode.
The Tough Girl Podcast interviews inspirational female explorers, adventurers, athletes and everyday women who have overcome great challenges. If you haven’t yet checked them out then you really should www.toughgirlchallenges.com plus they are free to listen to. If you love them as much as I do, then it would be fab if you could vote for the Podcast here, as it has been selected as a finalist for the 2018 #BeAGameChanger Awards. (Vote by the 13th May).
The only problem I have now, is I am getting through the podcasts back catalogue so quickly I think I am going to run out! Quick quick Sarah, make more!!! If anyone has any other suggestions of podcasts I might like that will be equally as interesting and inspiring I would love to hear about them so that I am fully stocked for a big summer of endurance training ahead.
